Christmas Decorating | Photographing your Tree

Happy Wednesday, lovlies! I just love Christmas time. This is little J's first Christmas. While we were decorating the [most perfect shaped, sized and trimmed] tree, James enjoyed gnawing on an ornament...

I love playing around with lighting and got some WONDERFUL photos of our tree that actually do it justice! To get a wonderful photo of your tree and it's lights with your DSLR camera, set it on manual mode "M". I set my ISO at 400 and my Aperture was at 1/4. (I recommend you set your ISO at 400 and then adjust your aperture depending on your homes lighting. Last, be sure to use a tripod (or in my case, TV stand) haha! use something to steady the camera and set it on a timer so you can let go and eliminate movement! I also tried each white balance setting, and in the end stuck with it on auto to produce the results I wanted! When I took these, the house was dark:)

My nana made me this wonderful village!
